Open Class at The Juilliard

JS_ENTRY-ZOOM2_oup_xlargeSensedance’s Henning Rübsam and composer Ricardo Llorca are scheduled to teach The Juilliard School’s Evening Division course “Choreographers and Composers.”

The seminars will explore the great creative partnerships of the 20th century with an emphasis on the basic processes, idiosyncrasies, and opportunities involved in this unique working relationship. In addition to learning about the history behind groundbreaking syntheses of dance and music, students attend performances by contemporary collaborative artists, some of who provide additional insight as guest speakers in the class. Students evaluate and review works, question existing barriers, discuss the factors that impact the outcome of collaborations, and examine the ways both worlds have influenced and continue to change the shape of contemporary artistic production.

These classes are open to anyone, so if you’ve always wanted to see what it’s like inside The Juilliard, here’s your chance.
