EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Oregon Ballet Theatre, a classically-based professional ballet company in Portland, is seeking an Executive Director (ED). The ED shares responsibility for the overall leadership of the organization with the Artistic Director, and both positions report to the Board of Trustees. While the ED is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration of OBT, the majority of his/her efforts will be focused on development and fundraising. This position encompasses the responsibilities of the Chief Development Officer, including cultivating long-term relationships with donors and directing all development, fundraising, and marketing efforts. The ED will support the artistic vision and excellence of the company while achieving fiscal sustainability. He/she will work with the Board of Trustees to develop and implement operating and long-term plans (including implementation of our existing strategic plan) and will enthusiastically represent OBT in the community.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned fundraising executive who can provide strong and innovative leadership. He/she will have imagination, vision, an entrepreneurial spirit and will be able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. In addition, this highly-polished individual will be a strategic thinker, a self-starter who is results-oriented, has excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent project management and supervision skills, and a demonstrated passion for OBT’s mission.
